Actually, gold can be found on almost all the continents of the earth. In addition, traces of gold can also be found in sea water and even in the human body.
Although the gold can be found almost everywhere, there is very little gold compared with the other elements.
The largest known deposits of gold appear in two continents, Africa and India. In these two regions, South Africa contains the largest concentration of gold with the town of Johannesburg being built over the world’s largest gold deposit. India is the world’s second deepest underground gold mine, the Champion Reef Mine, located in the Kolar region of India. While the Kolar gold fields have been closed for years due to diminishing returns on the investment, this area of India is still thought to contain very rich deposits of gold.
There are also deposits of gold being found in other countries such as the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
