Why do bees make honey?

Honey beeHoney bees make honey as a means of storing food to eat over the cooler winter period, when they are unable to look for food and there are fewer flowers from which to gather food.

Honey is very ideal for bees as it is very high in energy. It is full of nutrients and very high in sugars. Honey bees convert the nectar into honey.
